Through sketches, observations, and time spent walking, my kinship to this land deepens. Drawings become paintings, iterations of paintings, small attempts to illuminate some mystery of form, space, matter. It feels common and wonderful, the mundane mystery of life all around us, three blocks from my home. It’s here in the woods that the busy city gives way to the tall cathedral like black locust and willow, overlapped by stout bridges, concrete walking paths, sidewalks, streets, businesses and homes.
